Rejoice! The last batch of construction walls are coming down at EPCOT this summer. CommuniCore Hall & Plaza will officially open on June 10, 2024. The opening will complete the multi-year overhaul of Future World into World Celebration.
Once open, CommuniCore Hall & Plaza will serve as the home of festivals at EPCOT. It’ll also include entertainment, starting with the limited-time “¡Celebración Encanto!” sing-along show. The new Encanto show will run this summer starting June 10 and going through September 6.
CommuniCore Hall & Plaza will also be the home of the classic character meet-and-greets at EPCOT. The Mickey and Friends spot will let guests meet Mickey Mouse (and friends), but an official opening date for this space hasn’t been announced.
While we’re undecided if the new CommuniCore Hall & Plaza is a worthy upgrade over the idea of a remodeled Innoventions West, we’re thrilled that navigating construction walls is coming to an end. Getting around EPCOT has been a challenge over the last several years, and simply completing the lengthy World Celebration project is worth celebrating.
