It’s time to check in on the construction of Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort that’s being built at Walt Disney World. Things are moving ahead pretty swiftly, with multiple floors now rising up over the construction fences.
Friend of the site DC Baker captured multiple pictures of the progress.
Massive cranes have been used to build Disney Lakeshore Lodge since December 2024. These cranes will be used extensively to construct the 10-story DVC hotel that will add an approximate 900 rooms to Walt Disney World.
Disney hasn’t said much about Disney Lakeshore Lodge, but we do know it is scheduled to open in 2027. This new hotel appears to be copying many (if not all) of the old plans and concept art from the previously-named Reflections โ A Disney Lakeside Lodge. That project was announced in 2018, but was put on the backburner until the last couple years when it took on its current Lakeshore Lodge name.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge continues Disney’s full steam ahead approach of adding DVC properties at Walt Disney World. Though Disney recently added the DVC Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Lakeshore Lodge represents the largest DVC expansion since the Riviera Resort opened in December 2019. Disney is all-in on the DVC model, and the upcoming Lakeshore Lodge is just the latest push.
