Disney has released new concept art for the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) lounge that’s being added to the Magic Kingdom. The lounge is taking over the space that was previously occupied by the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, which closed in June 2024. Disney expects the lounge to open in Summer 2025.
Below is how Disney describes the space:
Nestled in the heart of Frontierland in Magic Kingdom park, Disney Vacation Club McKim’s Mile House – A Member Lounge offers a cozy and convenient retreat for Members to share stories and recharge during their day of fun. Experience the rustic charm of a space inspired by the adventurous spirit of exploration from a bygone era.
The lounge will operate similarly to the one already in place at EPCOT (in the Imagination Pavilion), and will offer DVC guests the following:
- Comfortable seating
- Complimentary soft drinks
- A children’s entertainment area
- Wi-Fi
- Charging cords available upon request on a first-come, first-served basis
This new lounge, which has been criticized for taking over a space that used to be open to all guests, continues Disney’s expansion of the Disney Vacation Club at Walt Disney World. Disney likely wanted a lounge in place at Magic Kingdom as they expand their DVC resorts in the area, including the new DVC Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort that’s set to open in December 2024.
Beyond the new tower at the Polynesian, Disney is quietly building on the site of the Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge project. This is believed to be yet another DVC project, though Disney hasn’t confirmed or released any details about what’s being built.
