Have you seen the progress on the repainting of Cinderella Castle? The Magic Kingdom’s icon is returning to its original color scheme, and is abandoning the pinks and golds that were added for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary. The new (old?) blue, white, and gray colors are back and better than ever.
Friend of the site @bioreconstruct documented the painting progress from every angle. It’s looking good.
The front of the Castle has the least amount of visible change so far. But, a couple turrets and spires already have the new look. Check out that dark blue on the highest spires!
Zooming in, it’s more obvious where work was paused for the night.
Here’s two views of the Castle from other angles – Tomorrowland and Liberty Square.
The rear of the Castle has seen the most progress. There’s very little of the old pink/salmon color left on the Castle’s backside.
Isn’t she lovely?
Disney has been working to repaint Cinderella Castle each night. Some work can be spotted during the day, but the majority has been taking place when the Magic Kingdom is closed.
Originally, Disney said the Castle repainting would be done “later in 2026.” No date was provided. However, the painting project seems to be moving quickly. We think this could wrap up relatively soon based on how fast the transformation is going.
