The next version of Test Track is still a work in progress at EPCOT. The last time we checked in on Test Track the new exterior canopy was just starting to take shape. Now, scaffolding is completely covering the entrance and there’s a flurry of activity around the ride building.
Friend of the site DC Baker was once again on the scene to capture a great look at Test Track 3.0’s progress.
Of course, the bulk of the work on Test Track 3.0 is taking place inside. Considering Disney hasn’t released too many details about the Test Track update, what’s going on inside the ride building is a mystery. We only have the concept art below and some vague descriptions about the new Test Track.
Once reopened, the ride “will celebrate todayโs innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future.”
Disney has said that the updated Test Track will open in late Summer 2025. However, that opening window seems flexible and initial rumors suggested an opening date closer to the Fall and Winter rather than the Summer.
It’s worth noting that Disney is about to have a series of major construction projects taking place at Disney World. Disney’s Animal Kingdom will see DinoLand USA turned into the Tropical Americas land, and the Magic Kingdom will see two major projects in the Cars and Villains lands. While there’s likely little overlap in the crews working on Test Track and those projects, Disney will want to get the Test Track project off the books before things get too intensive elsewhere.
