Epcot is a theme park going through a major transformation. From an overhaul to the park’s main entrance to the addition of the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster and the Ratatouille ride, Epcot is home to a bunch of construction. Now it sounds like more could be starting soon.
There have been a bunch of rumors surrounding Epcot’s Future World and proposed changes that would involve building demolition and new construction. One of the rumors stated that Innoventions West, Club Cool and the current Starbucks location will be demolished. A beer garden, a new Festival Center and more would be built in their place.
So, assuming the rumors are true, when should guests expect to see walls around Innoventions? It sounds like you might want to visit soon before it’s too late.
I’d get photos as soon as possible. Such a shame. I’m expecting them anytime now.
Disney insider Martin Smith
Smith, who is one of the best Disney insiders around, believes that construction walls could go up very soon barring a last-minute change. His disappointment about the project reflects a desire to maintain, preserve and build upon Epcot’s history rather than bulldozing for spaces that may not fit within the park’s original vision.
As always, take this rumor with a grain of salt. This project hasn’t been officially announced and Disney is known to make late decisions that have completely cancelled or altered rumored plans and even plans they have announced – such as the Magic Kingdom Theater.
Stay tuned. Epcot’s transformation may just be getting started.
