Review: Tie-Dye Cheesecake at Pop Century Resort

Pop Century Resort is known for its affordable rates, convenient location and unique celebration of all things pop culture. It should also be known for its Tie-Dye Cheesecake, a special dessert found in the grab-and-go section of the food court that’s only available at Pop Century.

We had heard the Tie-Dye Cheesecake was a “must-do” food item when we were planning our stay at Pop Century, so we made a point to check it out during one of our dinners. Found in the refrigerated section near the baked goods, the Tie-Dye-Cheesecake is exactly what it sounds like – cheesecake that’s every color of the rainbow.

The Tie-Dye Cheesecake is a very manageable size. It’s small enough to be a single-serving, but it can be shared with a friend if you’re feeling generous.

The bright colors extend well beyond the dessert’s exterior and permeate throughout all of the cheesecake. That may turn some guests off (it is kind of odd eating such a random-colored dessert when regular cheesecake is also an option), but we found it to be a lot of fun. It felt perfectly themed to our surroundings.

As tasty as it is colorful.

The cheesecake itself was perfect. It was light and creamy with an unexpected surprise base that resembled a soft and spongy red velvet cake. That red velvet style crust was quite the welcome surprise in place of the usual graham cracker crust that can sometimes be a bit too dense.

So, would we get it again? Is the Tie-Dye Cheesecake worth picking over the regular cheesecake or a different dessert at Pop Century’s food court?

Yes! Definitely!

In terms of pure cheesecake, it was very tasty and more than held its own compared to larger, less colorful cheesecakes. In terms of themed desserts that also taste good, this also earns high marks thanks to its crazy colors and strong overall taste.

Embrace your technicolor side and pick up the Tie-Dye Cheesecake at Pop Century Resort during your next visit.
