The 2018 International Festival of the Arts at Epcot is loaded with art, music and plenty of unique eats. For those of you who just want to enjoy a fun take on an old classic, look to the Artist Palette Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookie.
The giant cookie is one of the most familiar items during a festival that features purple sweet potato mousse, shrimp ceviche and many other items that may look frightening to picky eaters. During our visit, we found the giant cookie at two locations around the World Showcase – The Artist’s Table and Decadent Delights.
For starters, the cookie lives up to the “jumbo” description. It’s the size of a large plate. It’s soft, but not too soft where it falls apart when you try to tear it apart. That’s important given the very shareable size.
So where does the painting come in? With some liquid icing and a paint brush, of course.
The icing comes in three colors – as seen in the photo at the top of this page – and is easy to spread with the provided paint brush. Admittedly, it’s kind of weird at first using a real paint brush on something you’re about to eat, but that feeling fades while making your artistic masterpiece.
The icing is easy to spread at first, but gradually becomes a bit more difficult as it hardens over time. That shouldn’t be an issue as the “painting” portion quickly transitions to the “eating” portion, which is why you bought this cookie in the first place.
Though some may say that Epcot hosts too many festivals throughout the year, the 2018 International Festival of the Arts is a fun offering with something for everyone – including a giant cookie.
