How Many Days Should You Spend at the Magic Kingdom?

Updated:

The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is the most popular theme park in the world and features dozens of unique rides and attractions. How many days should you plan to spend at the Magic Kingdom to make sure you experience everything the park has to offer?

The length of your trip as well as the size of your group will influence this answer. You may also choose to spend more or less time depending on crowds, your interests, and the weather.

That being said, we recommend you spend at least two days of your vacation at the Magic Kingdom if you want to do it all.

The Magic Kingdom is often referred to as a two-day theme park due to its size and number of attractions. Even guests utilizing Lightning Lanes have a difficult time experiencing every attraction on busier days. Planning two full days at the park will give you the best opportunity to visit the rides you want to ride most, watch the parade, and see the incredible nightly fireworks show.

Spending two days at the Magic Kingdom can also cut down on stress. Too often we see guests try to jam everything at Magic Kingdom into one day, and inevitably that leads to meltdowns by kids and adults alike. Planning two days makes things more relaxing if you can’t squeeze everything in or if weather rains on your plans.

If you’re staying on property, which we believe it is worth it to stay at a Disney World hotel for the convenience alone, we recommend splitting up your days. Crowds and hot weather can put a real damper on your day, causing some of the magic and enjoyment to fade. We’ll try to arrive at the Magic Kingdom early, hit some of our favorite attractions while the lines are manageable, eat an early lunch, and then head back to the resort for a quick break. Then, we’ll return refreshed for a night of Magic Kingdom fun. That idea is only doable if you have multiple days planned.

Overall, you’ll want two full days to commit to the Magic Kingdom to experience everything it has to offer.
