Walt Disney World Railroad will begin testing at the Magic Kingdom, no reopening date set

Walt Disney World Railroad enthusiasts rejoice! The Railroad will begin testing soon as it continues its lengthy refurbishment at the Magic Kingdom.

While the train will begin testing, it will not immediately reopen to guests.

The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed since December 2018 as construction on TRON Lightcycle Run moved forward. The train’s path had to be shifted thanks to TRON’s new footprint. Once completed, the railroad will travel beneath TRON’s exterior canopy.

It’s unclear when the Walt Disney World Railroad will reopen to guests. Though it is now testing, the train can’t reopen while TRON Lightcycle Run is still an active construction site.

The Walt Disney World Railroad has already been closed for three years as of the date of this article. Hopefully it’ll be able to welcome guests and circle the Magic Kingdom in the near future.
