Disney is scaling back the number of voyages offered at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World. Beginning in October 2023, only two voyages will be offered each week instead of the usual three. Disney notes holiday weeks may still feature three voyages.
This latest change is yet another sign that demand isn’t keeping up with the availability at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Previously, Disney was cancelling select voyages that had low occupancy.
The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience is one that has been met with mostly positive reviews. However, the extremely high price tag has effectively narrowed the already small market for the two-night adventure. Guests need to spend about $5,000 (and up) for the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.
The steep price was polarizing from the beginning, and made many wonder what the long-term future for the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser looked like after the initial buzz faded.
Are discounts in store for the Galactic Starcruiser? Will Disney modify the experience so that it appeals to a larger number of guests? Will the Galactic Starcruiser modify its programming (say offer an original trilogy themed adventure) to appeal to repeat guests?
