Disney Cruise Line has revealed more information about the spaces for adults on the Disney Wish. The newest ship will feature an outdoor spa retreat, standalone salon and barbershop experiences, and themed lounges.
The video below outlines the adults-only areas on the Disney Wish, including the latest take on upscale dining.
Let’s talk about the adults-only spaces in more detail.
Outdoor Oasis at Senses Spa
The Disney Wish will be the first on Disney Cruise Line to incorporate an outdoor space into its spa environment. The Rainforest experience, which guests love on Disney Cruise Line’s other ships, has introduced outdoor seating on the Disney Wish. It will also have an ice lounge in addition to the familiar showers and saunas.
Untangled Salon & Hook’s Barbery
Want a haircut at sea? The Disney Wish has you covered. Both the Untangled Salon and Hook’s Barbery will offer salon and barbershop experiences for adult guests. Each space will be richly themed and offer a variety of services. Did we mention the bar in Hook’s Barbery?
Adult Lounges
Disney Cruise Line is abandoning the concept of the adults-only district found on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy and moving to a spread out concept. The adult lounges will be spaced around the ship rather than contained in a dedicated space.
It also appears the lounges on the Disney Wish will be a bit larger compared to others in the fleet, opting for more space and reducing the overall number of lounges.
We’ve already discussed the Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge, so let’s get to know the other adult lounges.
Keg & Compass
Every Disney Cruise Line ship has to have a pub, right? Keg & Compass will be the place to watch sports while enjoying theming in the style of a 1800s Norwegian sailor’s map room. Think Norse sea folklore. Naturally, Disney characters will make a subtle appearance within the theming of Keg & Compass.
Nightingale’s
Located near the atrium, Nightingale’s is a piano bar that will serve as an extension to the theming in the Grand Hall. At first we got our hopes up that this may be a dueling piano bar, but instead it will be a more peaceful retreat with music that flows into the main atrium.
The Bayou
Themed to (you guessed it) The Princess and the Frog, The Bayou will give adult guests a chance to enjoy cocktails, coffees and beignets in a space that will offer live entertainment. Honestly, we were sold at beignets. The rich theming and twinkling fireflies are just a bonus.
The Disney Wish will make its maiden voyage on June 9, 2022.
