A fireworks launch platform / barge caught fire after the performance of EPCOT’s Harmonious on Friday night. Guests in the area spotted flames and black smoke near the show’s primary ring barge after the show concluded.
A couple videos posted to social media (seen in the Tweet below) show flames burning around the ring barge.
Disney confirms the Harmonious fire only impacted a fireworks launch platform.

Disney reports the damage was contained despite the tall flames and dark smoke. It’s unclear how damaged the fireworks platform is, but the show will be able to carry on as repairs are made. Guests may notice some differences from the regular Harmonious show while the barge is repaired.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a fire at EPCOT following the nightly fireworks. A fire started in some bushes after a performance of Harmonious in April. Thankfully, this latest blaze was far away from any guest areas.
Was this an attempt by Harmonious to go out with a bang? The polarizing show will be replaced by a new show in 2023 that celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. It’s reported that EPCOT Forever, the show that bridged the gap between the end of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth and Harmonious, may once again run between shows.
