Video: A sneak peek at the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Updated:

The two new attractions coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge finally have official names. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will take guests through a battle between the First Order and the Resistance whileย Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will let guests pilot the iconic ship.

The latter of the two attractions,ย Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, has a new teaser showing what it will be like to be at the controls during the ride.

The video answers a couple questions Disney fans have been asking. First, this is going to be one incredibly detailed experience. The cockpit looks nearly identical to the one shown in the films. This will go a long way to fulfilling a lifelong dream to sit in those seats for Star Wars fans.

Next, the video also shows that there will be hints on how to navigate the ship successfully. With each guest being assigned to one of three roles, the success or failure of the ship’s mission depends on how well the crew performs a series of actions. It appears that flashing green lights will tell riders when it’s time to pull a lever or flip a switch. Earlier statements from Disney make it sound like your success or failure on the ride will influence how you’re treated around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

It remains to be seen just how difficult it is to pilot the ship through its mission. We imagine it can’t be too challenging as guests will have to rely on one another to push a button or pull a lever at specific moments. In other words, your fate may rest with the guest next to you in line. Frightening.
