The Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail at Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently welcomed a brand new baby gorilla!
The gorilla, named Grace, was born on May 1, 2019 and may already be seen by guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The tiny gorilla is spending time with her mother, Kashata, as they bond with the rest of their family.
Grace is named after the GRACE gorilla sanctuary in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a group dedicated to helping gorillas who were orphaned due to poaching.
This is just one of the many reasons why Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a remarkable, special place. While it’s easy to be distracted by the park’s attractions such as Flight of Passage or Expedition Everest, the overall message of conservation and the protection of animals shouldn’t be overlooked.
