Update on the construction at Epcot’s International Gateway

Updated:

Epcot’s International Gateway is undergoing a major transformation as it prepares for the larger volume of guests who will arrive by the Disney Skyliner. The old bag check and ticket areas at the International Gateway were demolished in June and now new steel framing has been installed.

We have a great look at the construction progress thanks to @bioreconstruct. The area still has a long way to go before it’s ready to welcome guests.

The green steel framing will form the expanded structures used for bag check and the ticket scanners. It’s believed that the Disney Skyliner’s official opening date near the end of September was picked due to the ongoing work needed to prepare the International Gateway.

Barring any significant delays caused by Hurricane Dorian, look for this area to be nearing completion in time for the Disney Skyliner’s official opening.
