Typhoon Lagoon closed until Spring 2019 for annual refurbishment

Cooler temperatures at Walt Disney World mean it’s once again time for a Disney water park to close for refurbishment. Typhoon Lagoon closed on January 6, 2019 and won’t reopen until Spring 2019 after its routine maintenance period is completed.

A reopening date hasn’t been officially announced at this time.

Walt Disney World’s other water park, Blizzard Beach, had its refurbishment period between October 28, 2018 and January 5, 2019. The winter-themed water park is back open now that Typhoon Lagoon has closed its doors.

These types of closures are expected whenever the cooler weather hits Florida. Walt Disney World will usually close one water park for cleaning, painting and other routine maintenance as soon as the peak summer months end.

Make sure you’re aware of the annual water park closures before planning your next vacation.
