TSA reverses their ban on themed Coke bottles from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

The TSA has reversed their decision to ban the special themed Coke bottles guests can purchase in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The change comes just a few days after they made headlines by banning the “thermal detonator” bottles that guests were trying to bring back home.

According to the report from CNN, the TSA has reversed their decision that originally banned the bottles because they looked like replica explosives. They issued a statement to CNN that explained how guests can bring the bottles back home.

“We have completed our review, and instructed our officers to treat these as an oversized liquid. Because these bottles contain liquids larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters), they should be put in checked baggage or emptied to be brought on as carry-on item.”

It sounded pretty silly that guests couldn’t travel with the bottles despite being allowed to travel with droids that probably look far more worrisome in the airport scanners. It’s also worth noting that the “thermal detonator” bottles aren’t completely new as they are nearly identical to other themed Coke bottles that look like Christmas ornaments or baseballs.

Coming in at a price around $6 a piece, the themed Coke and Sprite bottles offer a relatively inexpensive souvenir from a galaxy far, far away.
