TRON Lightcycle Run construction update, a second tower crane starts rising

It’s time for another construction update on the Tron Lightcycle Run coaster that’s coming to the Magic Kingdom. Since our last update in July 2019, additional steel framing has gone up that will eventually enclose the coaster. We can also see that a second tower crane is starting to be installed to work on the project.

The talented @bioreconstruct has some great new photos that show a significant amount of steel framing is now in place for the exterior of the building. You can also spot the second tower crane rising up on the right side of the steel framing.

It’s believed that this second tower crane will be used to build out the enormous canopy that gives the TRON Lightcycle Run its distinct look. As you can see in the updated concept art below, the coaster track and the walkways to the attraction will pass under the outdoor canopy.

You can see just how large the second tower crane already is when you’re outside the Magic Kingdom.

TRON Lightcycle Run is expected to open at the Magic Kingdom by 2021.
