Tree of Life Awakenings Returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Early November 2023

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will once again host some nighttime entertainment starting in early November 2023. Tree of Life Awakenings, which are brief projection shows cast on the Tree of Life, will return to the park when daylight saving time ends in early November.

Via Disney:

As the sun sets, the Tree of Life will awaken with limited-time projections of stunning visuals teeming with vivid color and animated imagery in harmony with inspiring music and sounds.

The Tree of Life Awakenings take place approximately every 10 minutes. Lights and projections bring the Tree of Life to life (no pun intended) in a visually-stunning way. The mini shows feature animals found in the carvings on the Tree of Life, as well as imagery from select Disney films like Pocahontas, Avatar, Bambi, and more.

Disney halted the Tree of Life Awakenings back in March 2023 when daylight saving time began. Rather than extend the park hours during the summer months, Disney preferred to close Disney’s Animal Kingdom before sunset. This meant that guests would miss out on seeing Pandora in its nighttime splendor in addition to missing the Tree of Life Awakenings.

We welcome the days when Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be open during nighttime hours.
