Themed scrim added around the Magic Kingdom’s Main Street train station

The refurbishment of the Walt Disney World Railroad keeps moving forward at the Magic Kingdom. While track work continues near the new TRON Lightcycle Run attraction in Tomorrowland, crews have also started working on the Main Street U.S.A. train station.

Brown scrim recently went up around the Main Street U.S.A. train station, signaling the start of work on the station. A portion of the scrim was later upgraded to a themed scrim that mimics what’s behind the covering.

The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for a little over two years due to the TRON coaster addition. The track will need to be adjusted in order to make way for the Tomorrowland expansion, which is giving Disney plenty of time to work on the rest of the track and stations.

Currently, the Walt Disney World Railroad is expected to reopen in 2021. That estimate is subject to change as Disney reorganizes their plans due to the pandemic.
