The Walt Disney World Railroad Will Reopen This Holiday Season

The Walt Disney World Railroad will finally reopen at the Magic Kingdom this holiday season! Disney has announced the train will circle the Magic Kingdom once again starting during the holidays, but did not provide an official date.

The train’s loop will look a little bit different as it will now pass beneath TRON Lightcycle Run inside Tomorrowland. In addition to the adjusted route, Disney says guests will notice one other significant change.

“The familiar whistle of its steam engine will be complemented by exciting new sounds and voices. A new conductor has assumed the role, carrying on the long tradition of warm welcomes and amusing anecdotes while adding fresh commentary and story to the journey.”

Let’s hope the new voice and spiel is as good as the old one.

The Walt Disney World Railroad originally closed back in December 2018 in order for the track to be moved ahead of TRON Lightcycle Run. More than four years have passed since the train – and its whistle – have delighted Magic Kingdom guests. The train’s return is long overdue and a welcome sight at the Magic Kingdom.
