The Disney College Program is coming back! Disney has announced the popular program will return this summer as Walt Disney World reopens to more guests. In addition to the news the program is returning, Disney has expanded the eligibility requirements to include more participants.
Disney cited the improving vaccination rates as they prepare to welcome back more cast members.
As our industry and community continue to bounce back, we have welcomed back thousands of cast members to work and have also restarted our recruitment efforts amid a tight labor market at Walt Disney World. Both of these measures are important indicators toward fully reopening our businesses and getting more people back to work.
Disney is resuming the Disney College Program by initially welcoming back 2020 members who had their programs cut short. The Disney College Program will officially return in June 2021.
Right now, we are also ready to welcome back students and are excited to announce the relaunch of the Disney College Program this June. We are inviting participants whose program ended early or was suspended in 2020 to reapply and join us. Today, May 3, these participants will receive exclusive communication via email about this exciting opportunity.
Disney has also simplified the application program and adjusted the usual eligibility requirements. The new requirements will open the program up to recent graduates who may have missed their opportunity to participate.
Eligible individuals will include those currently enrolled and taking classes at an accredited school, those who have completed at least one semester or those who have graduated within 24 months of the application date.
Disney also announced that their new housing complex, Flamingo Crossings Village, will open when the Disney College Program resumes.
More news about the resumption of the Disney College Program will be announced soon.
