Star Wars Launch Bay will finally reopen July 17, 2022 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests will be able to experience meet and greets with Chewbacca, BB-8 and Darth Vader when the space reopens.
Star Wars Launch Bay is also home to props and models relating to the Star Wars franchise in addition to the character meet and greets.
As happy as we are to see characters return to Star Wars Launch Bay, the space is still mostly underutilized. There’s some neat things to see outside of the characters, but the building is fairly empty.
This spot is ripe for change at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, especially with the addition of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. An overhaul / demolition of Star Wars Launch Bay and the old Animation buildings could go a long way in adding needed capacity to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
