Mickey’s PhilharMagic at the Magic Kingdom will receive a brand new scene on November 12, 2021. A scene from Coco featuring the musical number ‘Un Poco Loco’ will be added into the show. The scene will act as an addition and won’t replace any of the existing scenes.
Ahead of the new addition, Mickey’s PhilharMagic will close for a one-month refurbishment. The refurbishment is scheduled to run from October 11 to November 11. The show is set to reopen on November 12 with the Coco scene.
New projectors will be installed during the closure. This is a welcome update as the current show is noticeably blurry and grainy, which should be solved with new digital projectors.
It’s a bit puzzling why Disney chose this time to make this update. Mickey’s PhilharMagic could have easily closed and been updated ahead of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary on October 1. Instead, the attraction will be closed and the update won’t be enjoyed by guests until mid-November.
