A new report suggests that guests should say their goodbyes to DinoLand USA at Disney’s Animal Kingdom sooner rather than later. According to WDWMagic, DinoLand USA will close in phases beginning in late 2024. The earliest closures may take place in November or December, with the remainder of the land closing at some point in 2025.
According to the report, Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama and TriceraTop Spin will be the first things to close. Both are expected to close before 2024 wraps to make way for a new attraction featuring Encanto. Then, in 2025, the DINOSAUR attraction will close in order to welcome an Indiana Jones attraction.
It’s unclear when the land’s quick service restaurant, Restaurantosaurus, will close. An educated guess says it will line up around the closure of DINOSAUR. That’ll be a major blow to guests at Animal Kingdom who are craving some basic nuggets and fries. We’ll have to wait to see if Disney adjusts any of the menus at other Animal Kingdom dining spots to appease those eaters.
Disney hasn’t confirmed these reported timelines, nor have they announced an opening date for the completion of the Tropical Americas land.
