Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster continues to experience unexpected downtime to start 2021

Updated:

The new year has gotten off to a rocky start for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The popular attraction has been unexpectedly closed for the first five days of 2021. Disney hasn’t announced a refurbishment for the ride and cast members did not offer any details on the closure.

Currently, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is listed as “Temporarily Closed” in the My Disney Experience app.

While Disney has not said what’s going on with Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, an educated guess says it’s something to do with the launch system. An issue with the launch system caused a similar unexpected closure several years ago.

It’s unclear how long Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be closed at this time. Guests should keep an eye on the ride’s latest status in the My Disney Experience app.
