‘Rivers of Light’ Dessert Party added at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Updated:

A new dessert party is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom beginning on August 6, 2018. The ‘Rivers of Light’ Dessert Party will treat guests to desserts (obviously), snacks and special alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for one hour before the show. Guests will also get to view ‘Rivers of Light’ from a special viewing area.

The announcement, as seen on the Disney Parks Blog, mentions that the cost will be $79 for adults and $47 for children.

The dessert party for ‘Rivers of Light’ closely resembles some of the other dessert parties already running at the other Disney World theme parks. We reviewed the Magic Kingdom’s Dessert Party with Plaza Garden viewing, and thought it was a fun event that offered an amazing view for the fireworks.

Is this ‘Rivers of Light’ party worth it? Of course, the answer to that question is subjective.

The desserts shown do look like a lot of fun, but the price tag is fairly steep unless you’re desperate for a guaranteed spot for the ‘Rivers of Light’ show. The show, which has been met with mixed reviews, does have a fairly limited seating area. Staking out a seat and waiting on a hot day for a show with such mixed reviews doesn’t sound like a trip highlight. If you consider this a must-see show, the guaranteed seat may be worth the price.
