Photos: Construction progress on the Guardians of the Galaxy building in Epcot

The enormous ride building for the Guardians of the Galaxy indoor coaster in Epcot is taking shape. With all of the exterior steel framing in place, work has begun on the building’s roof.

Thanks to the folks over at WDWMagic.com, we have some new looks at the main ride building for the Guardians of the Galaxy indoor coaster. For starters, the ride building is absolutely huge. It will need to be considering Disney announced the coaster will be one of the longest indoor coasters in the world. Looking at the photo at the top of this page, you can see a few tiny construction workers standing on the roof.

Putting things further into perspective, the photo below shows how the building looks compared to Spaceship Earth, the old Universe of Energy building and the Wonders of Life building.

This project has been pretty remarkable to follow. The time-lapse footage of the building’s foundation was amazing in itself. Hopefully we’ll be able to see some views of the coaster track being installed prior to the building being completely sealed off.

There are some concerns about how the building will impact the views around Epcot, but it remains to be seen what the building will actually look like when it’s completed.
