The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort filed a new set of permits for an expansion to their pool area. The plans call for a large additional pool to be added near the existing pools between the two hotels. A brand new playground area is also included in the permits.
WDWMagic user danlb_2000 discovered the permits covering the pool expansion.
The primary pool expansion in the permit image above is at the bottom in the square labeled C-104, 204, 304. The expansion includes a wedge-shaped pool with a couple water slides and a smaller circular ‘water activity’ area.
The new playground area can be seen in box C-102 in the image above. It’ll set on the opposite side of the current pool area from where the new pool expansion will live.
Looking at the satellite view, we’ve marked where the proposed expansions will sit. The red box is the new playground area and the purple box is the new pool area.
The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort was already an attraction option for Disney guests due to its reduced prices, incredible location, dining options and nice pool areas. The resort also recently added the brand new 14-story tower in the Swan Reserve.
This expansion, assuming it goes through as proposed, will make the Swan & Dolphin’s pool experience rival that of the nearby Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.
