New information on the 14-story hotel tower going in near the Swan & Dolphin resorts

Updated:

A new 14-story hotel tower is coming to the current tennis court area located nearย the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resorts. The details surrounding the new building have been unveiled, as reported by the Orlando Business Journal, highlighting that the tower will have 349 guest rooms and a covered rooftop terrace. Meeting space will reportedly be a prominent feature of the new hotel.

Features of the hotel:

Meeting rooms with rooftop terrace โ€“ Over 21,000 total square feet of meeting space on three floors, including the top floor which will offer spectacular views of Disneyโ€™s nightly Epcot and Hollywood Studios theme park fireworks.

Guest rooms โ€“ 198 traditional rooms and 151 suites offering private executive meeting spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Restaurant โ€“ 75-seat restaurant including a 50-seat lounge and bar area and additional function space.

Fitness center โ€“ Full-service health club with private changing rooms.

Outdoor space โ€“ Lushly landscaped 16,800-square-foot elevated deck with a fire pit and 90-foot long pool

The concept art, shown above, indicates that the building will look drastically different from the Swan & Dolphin’s unique appearance, instead using glass prominently in its design.

The new tower will be owned by Tishman Hotel Corporation and MetLife, the group who own the Swan & Dolphin, but it remains to be seen whether this new building will fall in under either the Swan or Dolphin label, or if it will stand on its own. Based on its unique exterior theming, it seems like it will be its own entity.

Below is a satellite view of the area. The location of the new tower is expected to take over the green pin labeled Swan & Dolphin Tennis Courts near the Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course.

If you’ve visited this area, it’s difficult to imagine a large hotel tower occupying this space. The building, and the guests occupying it, will drastically alter both the Swan & Dolphin Resort area as well as the Boardwalk Resort area.
