New concept art and details for activities at the Star Wars hotel

Updated:

The Star Wars hotel at Walt Disney World, which is officially called the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, promises to deliver an immersive experience unlike any other hotel stay. Guests will enjoy a two-night stay that’s loaded with opportunities to live out a variety of Star Wars adventures.

New concept art released by Disney sheds more light on what guests can expect from this boutique hotel.

The Atrium

The Atrium is described as a location where crew and passengers (guests) gather. Many of the terms used at the Star Wars hotel may resemble what you might encounter on a cruise ship, and The Atrium appears to be the ship’s main gathering point.

The Bridge

Want to help navigate the Halcyon? You can when you visit The Bridge under the guidance of the ship’s crew. You may also be asked to help defend the ship from an incoming attack by the First Order.

The Silver C Lounge

The Silver C Lounge is described as a “stylish lounge, a warm inviting retreat for passengers of all ages.” That description doesn’t totally match the concept art above that depicts a bar atmosphere and the card game sabacc, so you probably shouldn’t plan on living out any galactic gambling adventures.

Passenger Cabins

Disney has widely advertised that every “window” in the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will have a view into space. That includes the window in every guest cabin, as shown in the concept art above.

Engineering Room

The Engineering Room is another location where guests can explore and live out a Star Wars adventure. Disney describes the Engineering Room as a “crew-only portion of the Halycon” where guests can discover the inner workings of the ship.

Wield a Lightsaber

One of the most interesting pieces of concept art released so far shows a guest training with a lightsaber. Guests will have their own chance to train like Luke did in the original trilogy.

But how will Disney pull this off in a realistic and believable fashion? A variety of patents have been filed over the years related to technology that could pull this off in a remarkable way, but we’ll have to wait and see what Disney has up their sleeve.

Launch Pods

The Launch Pod represents what guests will board at the beginning of their adventure. The Launch Pod will transport guests up to the Halycon where their adventure will begin.

Guests will also take a trip to Batuu and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during their stay, but those transport vehicles are expected to look a bit different.
