Mears Transportation has announced a new service that will shuttle Walt Disney World guests between Disney resorts and Orlando International Airport. Beginning January 2022, Mears will roll out Mears Connect, a service that will aim to replace the Disney Magical Express.
Disney’s decision to eliminate the Disney Magical Express on January 1, 2022 has left many guests searching for alternatives. Mears Connect states they will offer “the same reliable, safe, express service” guests know and love.
Disney’s decision, which appears to be a cost-cutting measure, has been received poorly by guests. Renting a car or calling an Uber isn’t the most practical solution for families with several small children. Mears Connect will offer a paid alternative for guests who still want the feeling of the Disney Magical Express and are willing to pay for it.
Mears Transportation previously partnered with Disney to operate the Disney Magical Express, which should make this transition relatively straightforward. Guests can sign up for notifications about Mears Connect on MearsConnect.com and begin making reservations in May 2021.
