MagicBand+ will officially launch July 27, 2022 at Walt Disney World. The upgraded MagicBand+ will have all of the functionality of the original MagicBands, but with some new features. Check out the information below for MagicBand+ pricing, features and how it compares to the bands we all know and love.
MagicBand+ Launch
MagicBand+ will roll out at Walt Disney World on July 27, 2022. The bands are expected to arrive at Disneyland later this year, but Disney didn’t provide a specific date.
The launch of MagicBand+ will include more than 25 designs.
MagicBand+ Price
Prices for the new MagicBand+ will start at $34.99. Discounts will be available for annual passholders and for guests with a booked stay at a Disney resort. This price does include the charging cable that will be needed for MagicBand+.
MagicBand+ Features & Comparison
So, what will the MagicBand+ do that regular MagicBands can’t? The answer is all about interactivity. The new MagicBand+ will let guests interact with the 50th anniversary sculptures, play a new Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters game in Galaxy’s Edge, and sync up with nighttime spectaculars. More information is available on the Disney Parks Blog.
The new MagicBand+ will be rechargeable. Guests are recommended to charge their wearable each night, though the battery is supposed to last one to three days. NOTE – the band will function like a normal MagicBand if it’s not charged. A dead battery will only limit the new interactive functionality.
Here’s how the new MagicBand+ compares to the old MagicBands.
Summarized, MagicBand+ will offer interactive extras that the current MagicBands do not. Disney has previously said the existing MagicBands will continue to be available, but that remains to be seen after MagicBand+ launches.
