Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America starts refilling after refurbishment

Water is slowly returning to the Rivers of America at the Magic Kingdom. The Rivers of America was drained back in November 2020 while the attraction was under refurbishment. Crews have worked on cleaning up the riverbed and making repairs to the track for the Liberty Square Riverboat.

Photos from @Nunu at WDWMagic show the refurbishment of the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island appears to have concluded.

Even though the water is being refilled, the Liberty Square Riverboat isn’t expected to reopen right away. The current schedule calls for it to return later this Spring. However, the boats that transport guests to Tom Sawyer Island could reopen sooner than later now that the refurbishment is wrapping up.
