Magic Kingdom Theater project removed from Disney permits

Updated:

As if there was any doubt that the Main Street Theater project inside the Magic Kingdom had been cancelled, some modified permits reveal that Disney has removed the project from their filed permits.

As seen over on Blog Mickey, the Main Street Theater project no longer appears on the modified permits. The location of the theater, an area just behind Main Street U.S.A., no longer shows any development.

This news follows the removal of all of the construction equipment for the Main Street Theater project and plenty of reports and speculation suggesting the project was cancelled or postponed. Those reports state that the theater project was shelved in order to reallocate funds for other construction projects around Disney World.

While it’s possible that the idea of a theater may return at some point in the future, this seems to indicate that Disney’s announcement from D23 2017 won’t be coming to fruition in the near future.
