Halloween is starting to appear in the Magic Kingdom. Fall-themed bunting was installed overnight on several buildings in Main Street USA. The decorations are going up ahead of the first BOO Bash After Hours event on August 10, 2021.

While we’ve seen this bunting before, the rest of the Halloween decorations might be a bit different this year. Disney plans to blend their fall decorations with new items for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.
Disney’s earlier statement on the fall decor:
This fall, the decorations on Main Street, U.S.A., will receive a magical transformation for the event nights in October as “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” begins. Walt Disney Imagineering, in partnership with the Walt Disney World Resort Holiday Services team, will blend a fall look with the enchanting story of Cinderella by creating special pumpkin coach decorations that will add to the park’s sparkling EARidescence during this magical time.
It’ll be interesting to see how Halloween is mixed with the sparkling colors of the anniversary. The two don’t seem like they’d complement. It’s possible some familiar decor, like the Mickey Jack-o’-lantern wreaths, will make way for something new.
Of course, it feels crazy to be talking about Halloween in early August. Holidays always follow a unique schedule in Walt Disney World. As more and more holiday events are added to the calendar, Halloween has pushed into mid August. Then Christmas feels like it starts at midnight Halloween night.
Premature celebrations aside, we’re excited to see the Magic Kingdom sporting a new festive look.
