Disney World theme park hours removed through May 23, 2020

The Walt Disney World website calendar has been updated to remove a new batch of theme park hours in the month of May. This latest update removed all theme park operating hours through May 23, 2020, extending the previous update that removed everything through May 16, 2020.

Disney has also cancelled resort reservations through May 23 to go along with this change.

This extension doesn’t come as much of a surprise seeing as there hasn’t been an official reopening plan announced by Disney. Some initial guidelines have been created by the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force, but Disney has yet to formally reveal their specific plans.

Currently, a date in June seems like the most optimistic time for Walt Disney World to reopen its parks. That reopening may come in phases with the theme parks opening in stages. Guests who are planning to head to the parks as soon as they reopen should expect a very different experience as Disney tries to entertain their guests while focusing on social distancing.
