Disney World testing the use of personal shoppers at select merchandise locations

Have you ever had trouble finding a gift while visiting Disney World theme parks? If so, a new experiment at select merchandise locations may intrigue you. Disney World is currently testing complimentary personal shoppers at select merchandise locations who can assist guests in a variety of ways.

As seen over on the Disney Food Blog, two cast members were serving as personal shoppers at Mickey’s of Hollywood in Hollywood Studios. They were there to offer guidance on items and could help find other items in the park by using an iPad. If there’s an item you like at a different location in the park, the cast member can find it for you and have it waiting for you back at the original store.

The test using personal shoppers was expected to last three days.

What do you think of this idea? Assuming the service would remain complimentary, it seems like a nice way to boost the overall level of customer service for guests. This idea would theoretically help Disney too as guests would be more likely to make purchases if they had an easier time finding specific items.
