Disney fans create petition to save the Disney Magical Express

The Disney community is trying to save the Disney Magical Express. An online petition has been created to try and change Disney’s mind about ending complimentary transportation between Walt Disney World and the Orlando International Airport.

The Change.org petition cites that the Disney Magical Express service is “an integral part” of visiting Walt Disney World. Over 2,600 people have signed the petition as of the date of this article.

Disney announced they were eliminating the service as of January 1, 2022. They pointed to guests having more transportation options, such as ridesharing, as the driving factor behind the change.

We’re disappointed in Disney’s decision to end the Magical Express. This cost-cutting move could backfire when guests realize the few remaining perks of staying at a Disney hotel don’t justify the price. Nearby hotels are much more affordable and in many cases offer a more deluxe experience.

Visiting Walt Disney World was a seamless and easy experience that began at the Orlando International Airport. Make it to the airport and Disney would take care of the rest. The “Disney Bubble” was something that kept guests coming back again and again. It removed some of the hassle many families face when traveling with children. It was a great service.

Now, as Disney forces guests to book their own ride and handle their own luggage, the short-term savings may carry long-term resentment.
