Dining packages now available for Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom

Updated:

A new dining package is available for the Festival of the Lion King show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Beginning August 13, 2018 and running through November 21, 2018, guests will be able to enjoy one of two different dining packages that also feature special seating for Festival of the Lion King, one of the best shows in all of Disney World.

Below are the two different packages, as seen on the Disney Parks Blog.

Tier 1
$99 per adult and $49 for children ages 3-9

  • Lunch or dinner at Tiffins Restaurant
  • Priority VIP seating at Festival of the Lion King
  • Safari tour

Tier 2
$74 per adult and $29 for children ages 3-9

  • Lunch or dinner at Tiffins Restaurant
  • Priority reserved seating at Festival of the Lion King

These two packages are very similar, but the Tier 1 experience includes VIP seating over priority reserved seating and includes a safari tour.

The safari tour sounds like a fun experience, though it’s not clear if this is just a glorified ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris or if it’s something a bit more personal.

Below is the description of the safari:

With the Tier I dining package, youโ€™ll get to continue the fun with a unique safari tour through the African outback, where over 34 distinct wildlife species seemingly roam free. Escorted by a special guide, youโ€™ll ride through rugged terrain to see some of the worldโ€™s most exotic animals in their unique habitats. Tour guides will provide interesting information on the land and its residents for an expedition youโ€™ll never forget!

Depending on the safari, the Tier 1 package could be a very good value. Tier 2 may also be worthwhile if you want a good meal at Tiffins and want a guaranteed spot for the show.

However, it is worth noting that you usually won’t have any issue finding a seat for Festival of the Lion King show despite its immense popularity.
