Construction worker dies after falling behind the France Pavilion at Epcot

Updated:

A construction worker has died after a fall at the France Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. The news originally broke saying that an “industrial accident” had occurred at Epcot on the evening of March 12, 2019. Details were later released stating that the 58-year-old male construction worker died in a single-person accident.

The official reports didn’t indicate what the worker’s job was or what he was doing at the time of the accident. The incident took place “behind the France Pavilion,” which is the location of the Ratatouille construction site and the future route for the Disney Skyliner.

Workers have been spotted recently working on the facade that will wrap around the back of the France Pavilion to complete the exterior of the Ratatouille attraction. Some of the construction in that area has been quite high off the ground, suggesting that the fall may have occurred in that area.

This news is incredibly sad. Our thoughts go out to the victim and his family.
