Back at the beginning of June, we showed off some early construction photos for the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride that’s coming to Epcot. The new ride building situated behind the old Universe of Energy looked simply enormous, looming over portions of World Showcase.
A little over a month later, the building has progressed further, allowing us to see just how big it’s going to be. Below is a great photo from @bioreconstruct comparing the new Guardians of the Galaxy building to the familiar Spaceship Earth.

Based on this photo, the building looks like it’s not too much shorter than the icon of the park – Spaceship Earth. That’s going to be one tough building to hide. In fact, Disney may elect to theme the building in one way or another due to the fact its immense size makes it nearly impossible to hide.
Should Disney try to theme the building some, they’d be wise to try to make it futuristic (it is sitting in Future World, after all) or like something that would fit into the fictitious, futuristic setting of Xandar. At the same time, you hope they don’t try to draw too much attention to the massive building that will soon dominate the skyline.
