It’s time for another construction update on the the Star Wars Hotel at Walt Disney World! The hotel, which is officially known as the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, is starting to resemble the concept art that depicted the “port” where guests will begin their galactic adventure.
Contrary to some rumors you may have seen, the hotel won’t actually look like a starship ready to blast off at the beginning of your journey. It will more closely resemble the experience you’d find when boarding a cruise.
Compare the aerial photo above to some of the official concept art released by Disney.
Taking a look at the rest of the building, you can see that there’s a secondary structure that will be used to support the entertainment and processes within the main building.
Guests staying at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will enjoy a variety of activities that promise to let each person live out their Star Wars fantasy. This multiple day experience is the most comparable to a cruise or a murder mystery event as opposed to a traditional hotel experience. There will be an “excursion” to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but the guests will spend the majority of their time within the hotel.
A no-arrows view of an overpass and road that will be removed soon. Note the yellow-lined asphalt. This was stubbed years ago, and will soon be part of a flat ramp connecting WB Osceola Pwy and NB World Dr. pic.twitter.com/ry9LgUhIDa
