The Cove hotel near the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin resorts is a construction project that has mostly flown under the radar. While our attention has been on projects within the theme parks, this new hotel has quietly sprung up near the Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course.
The 14-story hotel tower owned by Marriott will serve as the third hotel in the Swan and Dolphin complex, adding over 300 rooms and meeting space to the area. The primary focus of The Cove will be on business professionals and convention guests.
Thanks to @bioreconstruct we can take a great look at The Cove construction even with Walt Disney World closed to guests.
Zooming out, we can see a better view of the overall area where The Cove will reside.
To put the image above in perspective, The Cove construction site is at the very bottom of the picture. The Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course is off to the right of the construction site and the back of the Boardwalk resort can be seen near the center of the image.
The Cove still has a long way to go before it’s ready to welcome guests. The original schedule called for it to open in 2021, but we could see that date being pushed back due to the expected construction delays that are occurring during the closure.
