The center spine area of EPCOT remains a flurry of construction activity as crews work on the new Journey of Water walk-through attraction and the new CommuniCore Hall. It’s been a bit since we’ve checked out CommuniCore Hall’s progress, so let’s see what the building looks like today.
We have the always great @bioreconstruct to thank for the pictures below.
Let’s start with a view from the EPCOT Monorail loop.

The view from the Monorail reveals that CommuniCore Hall has come a long way from how it looked in October 2022 when steel beams were positioned for the structure.

The exterior still has quite a bit of work left, but CommuniCore Hall is starting to look like it could be ready in time for its announced late 2023 opening window.
Disney has said CommuniCore Hall will be a multi-use building that will host EPCOT festival events, a demonstration kitchen, exhibits, and more. It’ll serve as a flexible space that Disney can use in a variety of ways during its many festivals. CommuniCore Hall is also expected to host a meet-and-greet location with Mickey and friends.
CommuniCore Hall is effectively Disney’s modern take on Innoventions West, the old building that Disney demolished in 2021. Innoventions West definitely needed some TLC, but it’s a bit odd to watch Disney rebuild a very similar building where a classic one once stood.
Barring any unexpected delays, Disney should release more information about CommuniCore Hall and the associated Plaza area in the near future.
