It’s been a hot minute since we checked in on the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster at Epcot. Construction on the new attraction continues to slowly move forward. Now that the Monorail is running again to Epcot, we can see what’s been going on behind the construction walls.
As always, big thanks to @bioreconstruct for these amazing pictures.
The area immediately in front of the old Universe of Energy building is pretty torn up.

According to the concept art, a Nova Corps ship will be parked outside the main entrance.
Looking back at the building itself, the main entrance has changed quite a bit. The old reflective tiles are long gone. Crews even ripped open the front of the building before building what we see today.

Extensive work is also taking place on the building’s roof. Actually, that’s been the case for the past couple years. The solar panels have been removed and don’t appear to be coming back at this time, though that could change.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind doesn’t have a scheduled opening date at this time. It should open in 2022 – likely after TRON Lightcycle Run opens in the Magic Kingdom – but Disney hasn’t made any official announcements.
