Guests may see some familiar faces at their Disney resort during Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration. Characters sporting “EARidescent” outfits will make surprise appearances at Disney resorts as a way to spread the magic outside the theme parks.
The news on character appearances came from Disney’s announcement on why guests should stay on property for the 50th.
“In addition to this special access to our theme parks, your Disney Resort will be serving up some special moments, with surprise appearances from some of your favorite Disney friends, donning their dazzling EARidescent best.”
Random character appearances at the resorts isn’t a new thing at Walt Disney World. In fact, these pop-up appearances have been taking place since resorts reopened in mid-2020. Members of the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto) have visited a variety of resorts at unannounced times, delighting guests.
This announcement sounds like a continuation of the current pop-up visits, with the addition of some 50th anniversary costumes. We’re completely in favor of seeing characters around Disney resorts and hope this continues past the anniversary.
