The California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is listed as unavailable for bookings after October 2, 2021. The restaurant’s website page states they will “create a special dining experience” for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.

California Grill is currently unavailable for bookings after October 2 as we create a special dining experience for the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort.
No details about the “special dining experience” have been released at this time. We wouldn’t be surprised to see California Grill take on a prix fixe menu and sell dining packages that offer spectacular views of Magic Kingdom’s new fireworks show Disney Enchantment, but that’s simply a guess.
The change to California Grill comes as the majority of Disney’s Contemporary Resort undergoes significant changes. All of the resort’s rooms are being transformed into rooms featuring The Incredibles and The Wave restaurant has closed for its own update.
