Hyperspace Mountain Returning to Disneyland in April 2026

Updated:

Disneyland’s Space Mountain attraction will once again be heading to a galaxy far, far away in 2026. Disney has announced that the Star Wars overlay on Space Mountain, known as Hyperspace Mountain, will return on April 28, 2026.

Hyperspace Mountain’s reinstatement lines up with the Star Wars Nite Disneyland After Dark events scheduled for the end of April and the start of May 2026.

Disney confirmed the return of the Star Wars overlay for Space Mountain on the Disney Parks Blog. The overlay will only run for a limited time, but Disney hasn’t said how long guests will have to enjoy this version of Space Mountain.

Hyperspace Mountain adds Star Wars music, dialogue, and projections to the classic coaster. Guests join in a dogfight between New Republic X-wings and Imperial TIE fighters. There’s laser blasts, a soaring Star Wars soundtrack, and a lot of fun.

Disney originally debuted the Hyperspace Mountain overlay in 2015. The experience has popped up near the May the Fourth celebration several times over the years. Some thought Hyperspace Mountain would be phased out after Galaxy’s Edge opened in 2019. But, Disney seems to enjoy bringing back the overlay for their special Star Wars nights.
